What is your daily rate?

Our current full fee (before any CCS subsidy) is:

  • Full day: $141.40

  • Half day (morning or afternoon session): $88.00

We are a registered CCS-approved service, so your actual out-of-pocket cost may be significantly lower depending on your family’s Child Care Subsidy entitlement.

Do you offer discounts or concessions?

Yes — we offer a full-time discount for families whose children attend five days per week and use no more than 10 hours per day.

Our full-time rate is:

  • $625 per week

  • That’s $125 per day, instead of the standard $141.40 daily fee

This discounted rate supports families who commit to consistent attendance and helps us provide stable care and staffing across the week.

How far in advance do I have to book my child in?

We recommend starting the process as early as possible. Many families submit an Expression of Interest even before their baby is born.

Our steps are simple:

  1. Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)

  2. Book a tour

  3. Join our waitlist to be notified of available places

Some age groups fill quickly — especially for children under 2 — so the sooner you begin, the more likely we can accommodate your needs.

For casual bookings, we ask for as much notice as possible. While we sometimes have availability with short notice (even within the same week), we can’t guarantee it, as places change daily.

Can I book additional days on top of my permanent days, or book casual days if I’m not enrolled full time?

Yes — we do our best to support families with flexible needs.

Even though we have an external waitlist for new enrolments, we also maintain an internal availability list. This means you may be able to book extra or casual days when other families are away on holidays or their child is absent.

We can’t guarantee availability, but you’re always welcome to submit a casual booking request, and we’ll let you know if a place opens up.

What ages do you provide child care services for?

We offer long day care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

Our centre is thoughtfully structured into three rooms, each designed to support children through key developmental stages:

  • Little Explorers Room: for babies and toddlers from birth to around 22 months
  • Discovery Room: for children aged 18 months to 3 years
  • Inquiry Room: for children aged 3 to 5 years, including those preparing for school

Transitions between rooms are based on each child’s individual readiness, not just their age — we work closely with families to ensure these moves feel calm, supported, and timely.

Where are you located?

You’ll find us at 25 Howe Street, Park Grove, Burnie.

We’re tucked just behind the West Park Grove IGA Supermarket, next to the large netball court car park. Look for our welcoming signs as you drive in — we’re part of the internal building complex, with easy access for drop-offs and pick-ups.

If you’re visiting for the first time, feel free to give us a call and we’ll happily guide you in.

What does my child need to bring each day?

We want your child to feel comfortable, supported, and ready for a great day of learning and play. To help with that, we ask families to pack the following:

  • A full change of clothes (more if your child is toilet training or loves messy play)

  • A hat — sunhat in warmer months, beanie in cooler weather

  • A healthy, nourishing lunch, packed according to our Food & Nutrition Policy

  • A water bottle, clearly labelled

  • Any milk, formula or bottles your child may need during the day

  • A comfort item, such as a dummy or sleep toy, if it helps them rest or settle

We’ll keep everything safe, stored appropriately, and return it all home at the end of each day. If you’re ever unsure what to pack, we’re happy to guide you.

What extras does the centre provide?
The Centre provides sunscreen and baby wipes. Families will need to provide food, nappies and any milk bottles your child may need.

Sunhats and sleep mats are available for purchase from the office upon enrollment.

What is your daily structure/approach?

At Footprints, our day is guided by rhythm, not routine — offering children a balanced flow of indoor and outdoor play, guided learning, quiet rest, and joyful exploration.

We follow a play-based learning approach, grounded in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), which means your child learns through real, meaningful experiences — building confidence, curiosity, and connection along the way.

Our educators thoughtfully plan and adapt the environment each day to reflect:

  • Each child’s interests, strengths, and developmental needs

  • Intentional teaching moments woven into play

  • Opportunities for social interaction, physical activity, and emotional regulation

  • A strong focus on relationships, belonging, and wellbeing

We create spaces where children are free to be themselves — to build, imagine, rest, negotiate, and grow — while always feeling safe, seen, and supported.

If you’d like to know more about what a typical day looks like in each room, we’re always happy to talk you through it or invite you to visit and see for yourself.

What food do you provide?

We are a lunchbox service, which means families pack food for their child each day.

We also offer:

  • Breakfast (Weetbix or toast) for children who arrive before 8:00am

  • Occasional snacks or treats made during learning experiences (e.g. baking, food prep)

To support your child’s health and meet our national nutrition responsibilities, we ask that all food packed from home aligns with our Food and Nutrition Policy. This will be shared and discussed with you during your Orientation.

We safely store lunchboxes in the fridge and are happy to reheat pre-cooked meals or leftovers from home, as long as they’re packed in a microwave-safe container and clearly labelled.

Our approach is built on partnership, not perfection. We understand every family has different routines and habits — but while children are in our care, we work together to support healthy food choices that meet government guidelines.

If this approach doesn’t feel like the right fit for your family, we completely respect your decision to explore a service that better aligns with your preferences. At Footprints, we hold a clear commitment to child wellbeing and nutrition — and we’re proud to work with families who value the same.

How many staff members do you have, and what are their qualifications?

We currently have a dedicated team of 28 educators and staff members across our service.

Our team includes:

  • Early Childhood Teachers (ECTs)

  • Diploma-qualified educators

  • Certificate III educators in Early Childhood Education and Care

  • Trainees and support staff who are actively studying and gaining hands-on experience

At Footprints, we don’t just hire for a qualification — we hire for heart, alignment, and the ability to build real relationships with children and families.

We take our responsibility to the sector seriously and are proud to invest in ongoing staff development and upskilling. Our Assistant Director and Educational Leaders play an active role in mentoring, training, and supporting our team internally.

In a sector where Diploma-qualified staff are in short supply nationally, we’ve chosen to grow our own talent, ensuring consistency, depth of knowledge, and long-term retention. This means your child is cared for by educators who are not only qualified (or on their way to being), but who are also embedded in our values and culture.

How do I express my interest to work for you?

We’re always open to hearing from passionate, values-aligned people who want to make a difference in children’s lives.

To express your interest, simply head to the About > Jobs section of our website and follow the steps there, or click here to go straight to the Jobs page.

What end date do I put on my enrolment form?

We need to have an end date on this form to be compliant; a date two years into the future will tick all the boxes.
